וַיֹּ֤אמֶר דָּוִיד֙ אֶל־הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים חָטָ֣אתִֽי מְאֹ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה וְעַתָּ֗ה הַֽעֲבֶר־נָא֙ אֶת־עֲו֣וֹן עַבְדְּךָ֔ כִּ֥י נִסְכַּ֖לְתִּי מְאֹֽד׃ (פ)
Daud berkata kepada Allah: “Aku telah sangat berdosa karena aku telah melakukan hal ini. Sekarang, kumohon, hapuskanlah kesalahan hamba-Mu, karena aku telah bertindak sangat bodoh.”

Dovid's heart pained him that he had counted the people. Dovid said to Adonoy, "I have gravely sinned by what I have done. Now Adonoy, let the sin of your servant pass for I have been very foolish."
